Here we are on day 4 - cannot believe how quickly the days are flying by. Thought we should give you a quick overview of the villages we have visited so far.
The weather turned a little nasty on Monday with the arrival of the Mistral winds, and it was blowin' a gale. Climbing to the top of Les Baux du Provence proved to be a challenge, but it was worth the effort.
Tuesday came and the weather gods were good to us. The Jubilee team split up with Geoff, Dan and Lou hitting the golf course, and the rest of the gang heading for the village of Gordes.
Gordes is one of the most beautiful villages in Provence, recently made famous in the Peter Mayle book and Ridley Scott film, A Good Year.
Wednesday was market day in St Remy de Provence, and Big Bertha departed early - croissants and coffee in the village square was the perfect way to start the day.
I have never seen produce like this, garlic, amazing foie gras, cheese vendors, duck and roquefort sausage, just to name a few. After a few hours wandering the markets, purchases were made and we hit the road home for gourmet lunch at Mas la Monaque.
A highlight of the afternoon is pool time, and this has become a compulsory team activity after lunch. Deck chairs, afternoon sun, & the occasional thirst quenching beverage - perfect!!!!
Over and out for now - Dan and Marcia are Team Jubilee chefs today, and the home made brushetta has just arrived, coupled with a magnificent chilled Rose that Geoff has delivered to the table, I have now officially lost concentration.
What a fab update Lou - well done and thank you to IT Dan for making the 'glitches' go away! You are all having way too much fun without me! Sounds like I could have done a bit of cleaning on arrival at the Villa, so I should have hid away in Jon's suitcase! Over the last 3 days we've had 120km winds, so take that Mistral Winds! Calmed down now tho and just a little rainy heading into the weekend. Continue to enjoy yourselves as I know you will and look forward to the next update! xxxx
