I'll admit, there does seem to have been a lot of blogging about our gourmet adventures, and so I thought it was time to show you that we had in fact done something else apart of eat, drink, swim, shop and sleep. It took me some time, but I have managed to find some culture to share with you all :-)
Just beyond Nimes is the Pont du Gard, a UNESCO world heritage site, the aqueduct dates back to the first century BC. It was built to channel huge volumes of water into the Roman settlement at Nimes.
The Gordes day trippers also visited a beautiful church, and the artist of the group has been working her magic with the camera - we will all be expecting a Coralie original after this trip!!!
Now, I know I promised history, and well, to be fair, it was almost like a pilgrimage for Geoff and I to the honoured land of Chateauneuf-du-Pape, so..... it had to be included in the blog!!!
Ok, so Jon is at the pool, and Mum and Dad & I are heading into the local village for coffee - over and out for now!!! Off to Paris tomorrow.
